For one thing, it’s important to pick the right keyword. Ideally, you want a keyword that gets a fair amount of monthly searches but not too many. I know that may sound like dumb advice but if the keyword you target gets millions of searches every month, it’s a safe bet that it also has a lot of competition. If that’s the case your article will be so far down in the results that no one will read it anyway.  Better to target keywords with less competition so your article can end up on page one of Google, that’s how you’ll get the traffic.

Another thing to remember when you are building an  internet marketing articles business, is that if you just try to write some useless, poorly written articles you’ll just be wasting your time.
